FAST ON ANY SURFACE
The name refers to our first step into the world of road/gravel crossover: the MISSION.
With the racing genes of the MISSION CX, our new gravel bike continues our legacy of building bikes that are fast on any terrain. Since we entered the gravel world over eight years ago with the launch of the SILEX, gravel riding (and multi-surface riding) has evolved tremendously.
When the SILEX was launched, the focus was strongly on adventure riding, bikepacking, and off-road gravel routes with a mountain bike character. Although it clearly demonstrated its racing potential by winning the 2023 Gravel World Championship, it remains the ideal choice for gravel riders who value off-road capability over ultimate race speed.
To also serve the speed-focused gravel riders — including the riders of Team Bahrain Victorious — we created the SCULTURA ENDURANCE GR, a gravel version of our award-winning endurance road bike.
Still, our goal has always been to develop a true gravel race bike, built to line up at the start and to offer multi-surface enthusiasts a fast, aerodynamic “do-it-all” machine.
Welcome to the new MISSION.
It’s fast and responsive, yet remains highly controllable when the terrain gets rough. Our MISSION 9000 features our newly developed CF4 MISSION frame with a race-focused geometry that makes no compromises on control — even when your next gravel race includes a washboard descent.
Equipped with the finest gravel racing components — including the latest 13-speed SRAM groupset, a one-piece MERIDA carbon cockpit, and a race-ready Zipp carbon wheelset — the MISSION 9000 feels right at home on any surface, gravel or otherwise.
TEAM SL GR1P COCKPIT.
GRAVEL CONTROL, AERO SPEED.
The MERIDA TEAM SL GR1P cockpit is based on the one-piece carbon cockpit used on the REACTO, SCULTURA, and SCULTURA ENDURANCE. The GR version features a wider flare and a more gravel-oriented shape, providing better control on rough terrain while maintaining an aerodynamic profile. This cockpit comes as standard on the MISSION 7000, 9000, and 10K.
UDH COMPATIBLE.
MAXIMUM DRIVETRAIN FLEXIBILITY.
To ensure maximum flexibility, the MISSION frame is fully UDH-compatible. This means it is suitable for both “mullet” drivetrains (a combination of road and MTB components) as well as full MTB transmissions.
G.U.T. STORAGE SYSTEM.
INTEGRATED, TIDY, RACE-READY.
In addition to improved geometry and riding position, the MISSION also features an integrated MERIDA G.U.T. system (Gear, Useful Things): a storage compartment in the down tube,
accessible via a Fidlock cover, with space for inner tubes, tools, or other race essentials — all neatly stored in a custom-made bag to prevent rattling.
Fast, capable and composed. Our entry-level carbon MISSION 4000 is designed for the high-speed, high-stakes world of gravel racing and is based on our latest CF4 carbon fibre gravel race frame. Add high-volume, fast-rolling, off-road-tough gravel tyres, Shimano's proven GRX groupset, Shimano wheels, and a flared handlebar to maximise control on rough tracks, and you have the perfect mix of low weight, sharp but stable handling, and comfort — ideal for fast-paced gravel rides or rough road routes.
Our new MISSION truly embodies its ‘fast on any surface’ intentions. It is a gravel race bike that combines key geometry and frame elements from the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and the SILEX, sprinkles them with a heavy dose of road racing DNA to deliver a fast and responsive ride on pretty much any surface.
Whether it’s a gravel race, a multi-surface ride, or an intense group training session, the 2x12-speed MISSION 7000 feels completely at home in all these situations. With our new CF4 carbon MISSION frame, which has a more race-oriented geometry than our SILEX, designed more for bikepacking and adventure, the MISSION 7000 perfectly combines a more aggressive riding position with the stable handling you’d expect from a gravel race bike.
The proven Shimano GRX Di2 groupset ensures extremely precise shifting, even on the roughest gravel tracks, while the Reynolds ATR carbon wheels keep rolling smoothly — no matter the terrain.
FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS. OUR ROAD AND CYCLOCROSS HERITAGE.
Although the name refers to our view of the cyclocross and road/gravel world, the design inspiration comes directly from the SCULTURA ENDURANCE platform.
The GR subcategory of the SCULTURA ENDURANCE can already accommodate large, race-ready gravel tires, but our new purpose-built gravel racer needed to offer even better off-road capabilities without losing its on-road handling or speed.
As subcategories such as aero, endurance, and gravel continue to evolve, bikes are becoming increasingly specialized to give riders exactly what they’re looking for. Our new MISSION bridges the gap between the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and the SILEX. This is most evident in the tire clearance and geometry.
The new MISSION provides space for gravel tires up to 40 mm — compared to 35 mm on the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and 45 mm on the SILEX. We see this as the perfect middle ground between having enough tire width for high-speed off-road riding and maintaining the streamlined shape familiar from the world of road cycling.
Heavily influenced by the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and our experience with the SCULTURA, the tube shapes of the MISSION offer small aerodynamic advantages — especially when combined with our TEAM SL GR1P carbon cockpit. This focus on aerodynamics clearly distinguishes the MISSION from its gravel sibling, the SILEX.
Are you a MISSION rider or a rider on a MISSION?
Either way, our MISSION is aimed at the performance-oriented cyclist — someone who loves fast gravel rides or one-day races rather than bikepacking or multi-day adventures.
The MISSION offers true off-road capability without losing the lively feel of a race bike. That’s why it’s available exclusively with a lightweight CF4 carbon frame — the perfect balance of weight, strength, and stiffness — and comes in five different versions, so every rider can find their ideal setup.
The MISSION was developed with the new 13-speed SRAM XPLR groupsets in mind (featured on the 6000, 9000, and 10K models). These deliver reliable shifting performance, low weight, and a wide gear range. For riders tackling longer or more all-road adventures, there are also Shimano 2x versions (MISSION 4000 and 7000) that offer an even wider range of gears. When designing the frame, it was essential that it could also support 2x road groupsets — a key feature for riders seeking more precise gearing, such as those competing in UCI gravel races.
The perfect pairing. A SRAM Rival 13-speed gravel groupset and a CF4 gravel race-ready carbon fibre frame make the 7000 the perfect gravel race bike for aspiring gravel racers who keep an eye on their budget while not wanting to sacrifice performance.
The 13-speed SRAM groupset and proven DT Swiss 1800 wheelset are perfectly combined with our lightweight CF4 carbon MISSION frame to create the ideal gravel racing combination at a more budget-friendly price point. With a geometry between the road-biased SCULTURA ENDURANCE and the off-road-focused SILEX, the MISSION offers sharp, responsive handling on and off the road without compromising the control and confidence you need on more rugged gravel sections. The MISSION 6000 is the perfect tool for gravel gran fondos or fast, rough roads.
BALANCE OF SPEED AND CONTROL. AGILE ON TARMAC, CONFIDENT OFF-ROAD.
While the ability to fit wider tires is important for comfort and grip, it’s the geometry that determines how the bike performs in different conditions. To stay true to its road DNA and maintain the sharp, responsive handling of the SCULTURA ENDURANCE, while also offering greater off-road capability, the geometry of the MISSION sits exactly between that of the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and the SILEX.
The goal of the MISSION was to create a gravel race bike ready for competition, designed for the growing popularity of gravel races such as the UCI Gravel World Championships and UCI Gravel World Series. The bike offers both gravel enthusiasts and Team Bahrain Victorious a fast, responsive, and off-road-capable machine.
But the MISSION can do more. It’s also an exceptionally capable multi-surface bike, equally at home on tarmac and off-road, thanks to its balanced yet sporty geometry, lightweight construction, and sprint-ready carbon frame.
The 72° head angle provides greater control on rough terrain without feeling sluggish. The 391 mm reach keeps the bike sporty and agile on any surface. With a stack height of only 569 mm (compared to 584 mm on the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and 607 mm on the SILEX), the riding position clearly emphasizes a race-oriented posture — ideal for gravel races and fast multi-surface rides.
The low center of gravity further enhances stability and control, especially off-road. It gives the rider the feeling of being in the bike rather than on top of it, greatly increasing confidence in technical sections and descents.
Whether it’s a gravel race, a multi-surface ride, or an intense group training session, the 2x12-speed MISSION 7000 feels completely at home in all these situations. With our new CF4 carbon MISSION frame, featuring a geometry that’s more race-focused than that of our SILEX, which is designed for bikepacking and adventure, the MISSION 7000 perfectly combines a more aggressive riding position with the stable handling you’d expect from a gravel race bike.
The proven Shimano GRX Di2 groupset delivers exceptionally precise shifting, even on the roughest gravel tracks, while the Reynolds ATR carbon wheels ensure a smooth ride — no matter the terrain.
The new MISSION embodies its purpose: “Fast on any surface.”
It’s a gravel racer that combines the geometry and frame structure of the SCULTURA ENDURANCE and SILEX with true road-DNA speed, delivering a direct and responsive ride on virtually any surface.
From fast gravel races to chain-gang rides on tarmac, the MISSION delivers top-level performance. Tire clearance of up to 40 mm allows for wider gravel racing tires or high-volume road tires, while the lightweight 10K model, at around 7.6 kg, climbs effortlessly, remains extremely responsive, and accelerates out of corners with pure power.
The integrated storage compartment (G.U.T.) enhances access and organization of essential nutrition and spare parts during racing, improving efficiency when every second counts. Finally, the option to mount both 1x and 2x drivetrains gives riders maximum flexibility to choose the perfect setup for their preferred riding or racing style.
