The new SILEX retains all this versatility, but now offers space for tires up to 700x45 mm, significantly increasing comfort and off-road capabilities. The updated geometry includes a longer reach and slacker head angle for improved stability, especially when the bike is heavily loaded with full bikepacking gear and when riding on rougher terrain. A shorter, sportier-looking head tube, combined with a longer front fork, retains the comfortable and familiar riding characteristics of the original bike, but without the love-it-or-hate-it looks.

In addition to these frame updates, both the high-quality aluminum frames and the carbon options feature WIRE PORT cable routing for a sleek look and to prevent rattling and rubbing of cables. All models can be equipped with a 1x or 2x groupset, can be fitted with mudguards, and aluminum frames are also suitable for luggage racks. Merida has increased the brake disc diameter to 180 mm at both the front and rear for extra control when fully loaded, and supports this with their DISC COOLER technology on the carbon models.

Although the SCULTURA ENDURANCE GR will take on gravel races, the new SILEX has already earned its stripes during the most recent Gravel World Championships. Here, Bahrain-Victorious rider Matej Mohoric raced to victory on the new SILEX. This proves that the bike is not only versatile, but also the fastest on a tough course.

Nevertheless, the SILEX's renewed focus on off-road and adventure riding means it is more ready than ever for epic adventures.
